Proper lighting is vital to construction areas — it can be a matter of life and death. Many construction sites operate at night due to traffic, building use requirements and other concerns. Workers need sufficient, reliable lighting to make sure they perform their tasks properly.
Apart from construction safety materials and equipment, the visibility provided by proper lighting also helps protect workers and prevent accidents. Lighting allows people to notice hazards and risks and discriminate between colours, which is particularly important with safety warnings.

The 10th October is mental health awareness day. For the construction industry it’s a day that brings to the forefront a challenge faced by a high proportion of construction workers. Mental health is an area that is growing in awareness across all industries but there is a call for the construction industry in particular to have a greater awareness of mental health and eradicate the stigma that comes with it.
